Talk about a thump master supreme, this Alembic style 1978 Greco Speedway GOB-700 was made at the famed Japanese Fuji-Gen Factory where quality and craftsmanship are at the forefront of every instrument that leaves their luthiers. It features a full 34" scale and neck through body design. Neck-through construction means sustain for days, and when paired with the hybrid bone/brass nut, you're in for a tonal treat that's both clear and deep. The triad of maple neck and mahogany stringers, bordered with those luscious walnut body wings, is like the holy trinity of tone woods. As for the pickups, they’re channeling the spirit of the Gibson EB-0 for a fat, rounded sound that's got more bottom than your amp will know what to do with. The neck is incredibly playable with a medium D profile and a gloss finish. Access to the upper frets is unbridled and the instrument has a beautifully smooth taper from the neck to the body. The 20 medium size frets have plenty of life left.
Equipped with a dual set of Maxon PU-3B humbuckers wired to the original harness (master volume, 3 way selector and dedicated tone control for each pickup), this bass packs plenty of heft and punch and respond exceptionally well to any playing style. Capable of a wide range of tones to adapt to any genre, the frequency response of these pickups is well balanced with roaring low end, balanced mids and plenty of top end harmonics.
This bass is a stunner, dripping with that vintage 70s charm. The chunky neck has a beefy C profile has quite a bit of girth and roundness. This bass has a meaty natural sustain with plenty of thump and low end that can growl when driven and maintains an articulate and punchy well defined mid-range. The "PU-3B" pickups have a warm and smooth treble response. The slab rosewood fretboard contrasts beautifully with the natural finish on the body, which consists of a beautiful ash and mahogany sandwich. It has been Professionally setup for optimal tone and playability with low action and spot-on intonation. The stock electronics work flawlessly and are 100% original.
Cosmetically this bass is in player friendly condition with tons of play-wear and natural mojo. It exhibits small dings, dents, scuffs and minor patina. There are some scratches on the pickup covers and on the body. It also has a repair around the input jack (see pics) All this is just proof that once you pick this bass up, you will have a hard time putting her down. We recognize and accept a 7 day return policy as per Reverb guidelines, BUT intentions of the return must be communicated in writing within 3 day of receiving the guitar as indicated by the tracking. Unless the guitar is not as described, ORIGINAL & RETURN SHIPPING COSTS WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. There is a 10% Re-stocking fee for ALL guitars that are returned for ANY reason outside of damage from shipping or it arrives significantly not as described. Please note that we record demo videos to make sure our guitars go out exactly as we describe them with zero issues. We understand that feeling comfortable is vital to the purchase of a guitar/bass so in any case, additional measurements or in hand descriptions are available prior to purchase/shipping. Thats said, guitars travel a great distance some times and in transit things can happen. Also guitars acclimate to new environments and this can cause a need for a new set up or minor adjustment. It is acceptable and normal if there is for instance a tiny bit of buzzing or the need to adjust a truss rod.
