Feast your eyes on this incredible Aria Pro II SB-700 from 1981... This model is considered fairly rare and is highly sought after for its exceptional build and outstanding ability to perform. Aria Pro II SB series had been esteemed by legendary bassists through the ages including Cliff Burton, John Taylor, Rudy Sarzo, Jack Bruce, Marcus Miller, and more.

Originally released in 1978, Aria Pro II SB-700 is back with some modern refinements as well as embracing the signature look and heritage. The neck-through construction with silky smooth heel-less custaway is just comfortable to play and generate unbeatable playability at higher fret positions. The superior body resonance and tonal sustain are boosted with the original MB-1E pickup. The vintage style QHB-1 bridge and control knobs complete the classic SB figure and vibe. The bass features a neck-through design that is well thought out with a beautiful heel contour and smooth, fast neck carve. The body wings are crafted from beautifully grained select ash and the neck itself is a maple/walnut five-piece design. The 34" long-scale neck is graced with a tightly grained, well selected Brazilian rosewood fretboard that is adorned with dot markers. The overall appearance of the bass simple and refined, yet still bold enough to capture the attention of any player or audience. Electronically the instrument has an effective layout with one volume and one tone controlling a single bridge humbucking pickup that features a mini toggle for series operation. The SB-700 is essentially the passive version of the SB-1000, which is a legendary Japanese-made bass with hordes of followers. The construction is the same, with neck-through design and a beautifully contoured body. This one has beautifully-grained sen (ash) wings with a matching headstock veneer, and the usual 5-ply maple neck with walnut stringers. They definitely were looking at Alembics when they designed the SB series.

The hardware also came out of the same bins as the SB-1000 basses, as Aria specified the same high-mass bridge and brass nut, as well as the same pointy knob sealed-back tuning machines. The craftsmanship is also first-rate, and the 24 frets are still level and the fret markers are still flush with the rosewood fretboard of this one 44 years after it was made.neck, truss rod, tuners and saddles are in excellent shape operating well and fully. This monster is exceptionally clean for its age and has been perfectly maintained. Plugged in the bass exhibits a full, deeply resonant tonality that is well defined and clearly articulated. This bass presents an exciting opportunity to own a finely crafted, premium piece at an appealing price that is well suited to all styles and skill levels.
