Up for sale at The Guitar Dude we have this awesome '62 Reissue Stratocaster in a hard looking black finish sporting a double dose of voodoo magic. The sixties were a seminal time for rock and roll and Leo Fender and Co. was at the cutting edge  of the decade. As 1959 was winding down fender was ramping up and by the end of the year Leo upped the ante with the introduction of a rosewood slab board on his solid bodies. This was considered a deluxe upgrade at the time, other manufacturers had offered rosewood as standard equipment on many of their models and Fenders simple yet effective one-piece maple neck was plain and simple stuff to many. The combination of of a premium rosewood fretboard and easy availability of custom colors poised Fender for the attack and the rest is history. 

This piece, crafted in Japan in 2004-05 is a perfect example of why this era of Stratocasters has such a fanatical following. The smooth one piece maple neck is capped with a beautifully variegated, tightly grained slab rosewood board, 21 vintage style frets, and reproduction original Kluson keys. The poplar body is finished in classic Fiesta Red and loaded with Vintage Strat USA pickups. The guitar is acoustically lively and sweet, lightweight and resonant playing well up and down the fretboard and delivering quintessential punch and girth. Plugged in the guitar exhibits trademark slab board sing and growl with a clean, deliciously compressed tone that teases and pushes a tube amp. The Vintage Strat USA pickups deliver authentically voiced and natural tone with a spicy pungency that this era of Stratocaster is renowned for. Cosmetically the piece is in road worn condition with plenty of bumps and bruises but nothing gnarly. This is a mojo filled, super playing example of Fender Japan at its finest and a magical bit of the legacy of Leo Fender and his grand vision. It has an after market tortoise shell pickguard that sets off the look.

It has just been professionally set up and dialed in for optimal playability and tone. It has low action with no buzzing or dead spots and is an absolute joy to play. It has been deep cleaned and detailed. All guitars will arrive looking and playing great. The frets have been dressed/polished and the fingerboard was cleaned. (Unfinished Rosewood and Ebony boards get treated with Fret Doctor - a proprietary all natural oil that is the best on the market) It was professionally set up and has brand new strings, the action was adjusted, the intonation is spot on and it plays excellent. All the electronics work flawlessly.

The guitar MUST BE RETURNED IN THE EXACT CONDITION it was received or it is subject to a restocking fee. I am not a big chain shop, I hope you understand.
